Junior Credit Risk Consultant

RiskMatrix are interested in hiring a self-motivated IT professional to handle all internal IT infrastructure work as well as install, configure and support internal software solutions. The ideal candidate should have genuine passion for technology, self-learning attitude and problem-solving approach. Attention to detail and an analytical mind are essential prerequisites. All levels of experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Attend discovery workshops and fact-finding meetings to consult and record client requirements for credit risk related projects.
  • Use the tools provided within the Moody’s credit risk assessment and origination software to undertake, among others the:
    • development and/or enhancement of financial spreading grids used to collect information from companies’ financial statements.
    • development of credit risk assessment models.
    • development of custom reports required by client banks.
    • development of credit-assessment and origination workflows.
  • Provide knowledge transfer workshops to client-banks.

Requirements

  • Excellent academic qualifications: a BSc degree, and ideally an MSc degree, in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or in Economics or Finance.
  • An aptitude for Information Technology concepts and a working knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Have good motivation, time management and self-management skills. We expect each member in our team to take initiatives ensuring that all deliverables are completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to learn the currently available tools but also new concepts and tools as they develop over time.
  • Excellent communication skills:
    • You will need to be able to communicate with key stakeholders within our client-banks, both verbally and in writing.
    • You will, therefore, need to be fluent in English and have excellent writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and succinct manner.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an analytical role (gained, for example, within a bank’s Risk, Finance/Regulatory or MIS departments or at a consulting firm) would be a plus

Quantitative Analyst/Deployment Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Using quantitative modelling techniques to build risk measurement models with R and Python.
  • Supporting all stages of the model development process: data wrangling; data analysis; model construction; model documentation and model deployment.
  • Working closely with our clients:
    • Explaining the work, we do and ensuring the models we build will work effectively in the real world.
    • Understanding and defining client needs and implementing these into the Moody’s Ratings Platform using PostgreSQL, R, Python and C#.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Assisting clients during testing and deployment phases to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Job Requirements

  • Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into meaningful recommendations.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language. Experience in R, Python and SQL would be a strong plus. As part of the job, you will need to become competent in R, Python, PostgreSQL, C#, and Excel.
  • A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering, from a reputable academic institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Customer Facing Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom software modules within the solutions promoted and implemented by the company.
  • Compose queries in Postgresql, develop Devexpress Reports, create workflows using Camunda, and configure our core software using the in-built configuration tools.
  • Deploy and configure software modules to clients either on-site or remotely.
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to agree on the specifications for new deployments.
  • Attend discovery workshops and fact-finding meetings to consult and record system requirements.
  • Prepare the technical documents as well as the user manuals for the proposed solutions
  • Integrate individual software solutions to external systems.
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing. Write unit and integration tests.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications.
  • Support the deployed software solutions, together with the prerequisites and provide solutions to all issues that arise.
  • Supervise assigned resources and manage project timelines and team tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects to company specifications (for experienced candidates).
  • Provide knowledge transfer workshops and training (internally and to clients) as needed.
  • Be transparent and overcommunicate in the state of tasking. Update JIRA tickets diligently and push work in progress, draft commits, to version control often.

Requirements

  • A BSc degree in relevant field, or alternatively some years of demonstrable work experience in a customer facing role and a reasonable level of formal, or informal (i.e. “bootcamp”), technical education.
  • An accomplished presenter, or a willingness to become an accomplished presenter delivering complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in C#, .NET is required.
  • Knowledge of SQL is required.
  • Experience developing REST APIs is desirable.
  • Experience using Git is desirable.
  • Experience with ORM Frameworks such as Entity Framework, Dapper, Linq2DB etc is desirable.
  • Experience in modern front-end frameworks such as Blazor is desirable.
  • Experience in Report design with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, DevExpress, Telerik, Jasper etc is desirable.
  • A willingness to learn Python is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting/financial analysis is desirable.
  • Experience using JIRA is desirable.

IT Solutions Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Understand client requirements and how they can be implemented and configured with the provided tools.
  • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to agree on the specifications for new deployments.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the software solution data model and create data queries, using the configuration tools for workflows and reports.
  • Deploy and configure the Moody’s software to match our clients' specific requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and usabilityts.
  • Integrate individual software solutions to higher level systems.
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications.
  • Support the deployed software solutions, together with the prerequisites and provide solutions to all issues that arise.

Requirements - Essential

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and platforms such as RedHat Linux and Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Adequate knowledge of relational database systems and document or hybrid databases.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML5/CSS3.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting/financial analysis.
  • A BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

Requirements - Desirable

  • An MSc degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C#, .NET.
